Welcome to Go English and Kimberley, British Columbia

Public school placements for international children in the Canadian Rockies

The Go English study abroad program for families is part of a full-scale community effort to welcome English language learners to beautiful Kimberley, British Columbia. Go English is a collaborative effort between Alpine English School and Rocky Mountain School District No. 6 to create a program that offers English education opportunities to children and their parents. The program is part of a larger community effort to welcome international students and tourists to Kimberley where they can experience Canadian life, learn North American English and enjoy the amazing Rocky Mountains.

Rocky Mountain School District No. 6 has a long and successful history of hosting international students at Selkirk Secondary School and McKim Middle School. Our partnership with Alpine English School has enabled us to expand our program to include younger children in our elementary schools. Beginning in September, 2005 the staff and students at Lindsay Park, Blarchmont and Marysville elementary schools look forward to welcoming you and your children into our classrooms. The Go English program has created an exceptional learning opportunity for international students in grades K - 5. By placing a maximum of seven children in each school we can ensure your child receives the attention they deserve. Welcome to our school district and our international education program. - Ms. Bendina Miller

District Superintendent

Blarchmont Principal

On behalf of the staff and students at Blarchmont Elementary School it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Go English program. We would like to invite you to live and learn English with us here in Kimberley. Our school fosters a learning environment that is perfect for international students. Our classrooms are energetic and interactive with an emphasis on communication and teamwork. International students can look forward to learning and playing with Canadian children in the classroom and on the playground. We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our school and our community.
