Homestay placements are an option (subject to availability) for students planning to study at AES for a week or more. Our Coordinator of Student Services carefully screens and evaluates each family to ensure a safe, comfortable and enjoyable living environment. All homestay families provide AES students with a private bedroom, three meals a day, laundry facilities and Internet access. Bedrooms are equipped to a minimum standard that includes a bed, night table, reading light, desk and closet.

AES students can choose to homestay in one of three distinct areas of Kimberley; 1) the ski resort area, 2) the suburb of Marysville or 3) Kimberley itself. Each location has unique benefits:

Ski Resort: The homes around the Kimberley Alpine Resort are new and within walking distance of the ski hill, Trickle Creek golf course and the Kimberley Nature Park. Most of the homes have spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. Downtown Kimberley is about a fifteen minute walk.

Kimberley: Homestays within the main part of Kimberley are almost all within walking distance of the downtown shopping district and the Chapman Camp Education Centre where AES is located.

Marysville: This suburb is about 7km from downtown Kimberley. It has its own shopping area, elementary school and recreational amenities including two golf courses.
